What a difference a firmware upgrade can make. I discovered my Metabones EF/M43 Smart Adapter had a firmware update and did the update yesterday thinking.... yeah... so what.
Well, it made a huge difference in AF speed and accuracy with the ancient Sigma 300mm f4 APO Tele Macro in Canon EF mount on the EM1.2.
Some birds who consented to model for the new firmware this afternoon.

Headed out to the local nature preserve today, as the area birders reported a Barred Owl seen frequently. They were even nice enough to name which trail it's seen at. Despite only a 1/2 mile loop, there are hundreds of trees so no luck. But I did spot an Eastern Screech Owl snoozing in a tree cavity. Used my Canon SX50 because I wasn't certain how much reach I might need.

Ran across this while I was looking through some old photos. I Like the colors very much. Taken at the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge in Sept 2019. I think I accidentally stripped the EXIF data. EM1-II, 300 F/4+1.4 TC.

Looks like a ring-necked parakeet. They're common in Hawaii, which is more like their native climate in Africa and South Asia. Danged how these introduced species get around and thrive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose-ringed_parakeet
