Magpie outside the local pub - one of several scavenging for dropped food. There seem to be more magpies around than usual, this year.

Somehow I enabled the Lens Data setting on my EM1.2 with +3 as default, so many photos came out less than perfectly sharp the last week. This is one shot where it doesn't seem to matter.

I don't know if this belongs here, but it has to do with a bird. I was inside the house and heard a most amazing bird song so loud I thought it was inside the house. I've never heard anything like it before, so I tried to identify it using Google and found that it was a "musician wren". Here is a link to the Youtube video:

In the evening ravens come into town to roost in the trees around the local university. There are well over a thousand of them in various trees.

The school decided to hire some outside muscle to keep the ravens away.

Dear Board,

I had a day off from work yesterday and after clearing the snow out of the driveway, and getting all the walks cleared I took a ride to local park.

The place was loaded with birds, but the conditions were less than ideal. Cold, windy, and overcast, the triple crown of curses. Still I managed a few shots with the Olympus 75-300. I was pretty impressed with how it performed given the conditions. I suspect it will be fine in better light, and it will tide me over until I get the 100-400mm.

Regards,

Tim Murphy

The kids got me a little picnic table for Christmas and had it on the ground for the squirrels. I saw a photo of somebody putting there's against a tree so thought I would do the. The squirrels had already eaten but the birds came in.

Was even more impressed by Em5-2 quality .. or perhaps the 12-100 Pro lens !!

A is ... A Blue tit !!
