I probably have over 200 nice shots of this tree, I figured I woud share some of my faves here, feel free to share yours.

On this one I just really liked the way the clouds kinda mimicked the branches.
    Taken during todays dog walk.

cherry blossoms have been blooming here for a while.

my knowledge of dendrology (lack thereof) unfortunately prevents me from identifying this one.

Some from my in-laws' backyard yesterday. Not sure what this one is, just thought that the bark is very interesting:

How'bout a Coast/California Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens)? This image (or series of images) was taken during a visit to Muir Woods National Monument in late November of last year.

Technically this one, and others in Muir Woods, are "babies" compared to what can be seen up around Leggett (Mendocine County), however they are still a sight to see.

    Hi all.
This is an oak. I don't know how it turned out to have a trunk shape like this but the Woodland Trust suggests it may be that cattle have used it in the past as a scratching post and damaged the bark; that may have let in an infection that has caused the swelling. I haven't been around it with a tape but square on it's about 10ft across at the widest point.
This pic is actually from a 35mm slide (Astia/Bessa R/35mm Color Skopar) but as soon as the leaves appear again I'll get down there and do an update with the G1.
    Cheers
    Michael

Not sure if the word "awesome" applies, but taken from the front seat on the top deck of a double decker bus, this one makes you feel as though you want to duck, even when you know some 24 bus journeys pass under it every day

I like the series above and I too, that is a grand tree well photographed. I am working on a series of a tree in different seasons for a friend. I gave him the first winter photo on canvas for his birthday, now awaiting spring to bring the tree back to leaf.
