No iPhone vs Android, Apple vs Windows, or similar bickering allowed in this thread! Whole posts will be sacked for one inflammatory line!

I just thought it would be interesting to share some screens and see what others have on their "main" page. Tell us what kind of phone you have, the OS you're running, and if possible, explain any unusual apps shown.

I'll get things started:

Phone: Samsung Galaxy Nexus, aka G-Nex (Verizon LTE)
OS: Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean)
ROM: Liquid Smooth Beta 1: [ROM][4.1.1][AOSP] Liquid Smooth - Jelly Bean [Beta 1] - [VZW] Galaxy Nexus Development - RootzWiki

Apps you may not know:
  • Pocket: Previously known as Read It Later, this is a competitor for Instapaper. It lets you save web stuff to read later
  • Tapatalk is an app that gives you a different way to browse and participate in forums that support it.
  • News & Weather is a neat app for Android users to get news and weather. It isn't in the Play Store, so if you want to give it a try, you have to enable "Install from unknown sources", download the file attached to this post (GenieWidget.apk), and then tap on it to install.
  • Kik is a messaging app for smartphones. Disclosure: I think my brother is an investor in Kik. Either way, it's a great app.
  • Chrome is now my favorite browser for Android. It doesn't support Flash, so I keep other browsers around for when I want to visit a Flash site. For everything else, I use Chrome.

As far as I know, all of the above apps are cross platform (also available for iOS), with the exception being News and Weather.

Great thread, Amin....

Galaxy S2 running stock XWLP7 with CF-Root and JKay custom notification bar...... the notification bar is fabulous!

My fav app has to be Springpad; I used to like Pocket but think it's really went downhill since the changes and Springpad is far superior now.

The images are a bit large, sorry.....

Very cool. I didn't know there were anti-malware apps for Android. I should probably get one.
Check out the anti-theft on the Avast! - amazing for a free app...... remote lock; remote wipe; remote enabling of GPS and tracking of the device; get any texts and calls from the lost/stolen phone sent to another phone, etc....

That sounds great! I don't like the prominent icon in the notifications bar, but it may be worth it.

I too, like Amin, have a Galaxy Nexus (LTE). I frequently flash a different ROM, but I am currently running Axi0m Patient Zero v2.0 based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. To compliment my Jelly Bean operating system, my background is Jelly Belly's recently released live wallpaper. Of course I have the mu-43 forums app on my phone, and Dead Trigger is a wonderful free FPS zombie shooter with stunning graphics. Another app worthy of mention is Carat, a comprehensive battery manager that helps you eek more life out of our ever-too-small smartphone batteries.
