Sensor lines ??

    Hi all. Are the lines in this pic to be expected at ISO 320 ? Only just got the GF2 and have never noticed these lines before on any other camera.
    Taken with 20mm wide open. I have brightened the pic to show the bands more clearly.
    Fanks for any thoughts on this.

    If you push exposure hard, some banding is to be expected.

    You can ask Canon EOS 7D owners what they think about sensor banding :biggrin:

    The banding on the 7D. totally unacceptable :eek:

    Pattern noise, of which banding is one type, are common with CMOS (and LiveMOS) sensors. Typically it requires very dramatic underexposure for it to be visible, although Panasonic sensors, especially the 10MP one in some older 4/3 cameras, may show banding in less extreme situations.

    In short, your GF2 is quite normal.
