We had a dry, sunny but cold day on Sat so I made sure I had the GX1+45-175X lens and captured these graphic images.

    Well done!

I like all of them. That GX1 is a great little camera.

Thanks All, I am very pleased with the GX1 and despite early doubts I am now convinced it is a better performer than the GF1

GX1 prices have dropped a lot and here in the UK you can pick up a new body for around £350.00 so a good price and more than worth the money especially for those die hards (like me) who resisted letting their GF1's go.

I do wonder if there is a GX2 in the wings waiting to put in an appearance as Panasonic have promised to develop (no pun intended) the "GX" line for the enthusiasts.

    Some great shots!

You continue to push the GX1 far beyond the photo quality most people achieve - you have a great eye for capturing interesting aspects of everyday scenes. I suspect you use Nik's Silver Efex to do your B&W conversion? Have you ever considered sharing your recipe that creates that signature look?

    The secret - or not

    Thanks for that.

I do shoot everything in Raw and do initial editing in Lightroom 3.4 (got it free with GX1), I use auto setting but do prefer the sharpening tool. I export as 16bit Tiff and open in photoshop where I will tweak colours when needed before opening Silver Efex Pro.

I generally opt first for High Structure and tweak the structure slider even more before adding border and exporting back into photoshop where I merge layers, convert to 8 bit then save as Tiff & Jpeg version for posting.

I hope this is fairly clear?

    Good luck

    Much appreciated!

    It is, thanks.
I think the critical part is the fine adjustments of contrast in SilverEfex.
Keep up the fine work and please keep sharing!
