The main reason I switched from a larger SLR to Micro 4/3 is for portability and ruggedness. What better test of this rig than a 2 day, 25 mile slog up the San Gabriel River's East Fork!

The gear:
EM1 mk ii, 50-200 f/2.8-3.5 Non-SWD, 12-40 f/2.8 and 25 f/1.4

mini mud hoodoos formed from the slow and steady drip of the canyon walls above. Every branch, pebble and travertine chip preserves a perfect cone of sand and mud underneath.

Allison Gulch Falls. Getting here was a brutal 1 1/2 hour each way side trip up boulder and debris-strewn canyon bottom. A small camera was definitely welcome here!

I like what you did with an honestly pretty drab area. Were all of these shot in hi-res?

Thanks. I really like the high res mode, not so much for the increased pixel count but the greatly improved detail and color when resampled to match the native resolution. The first day was much brighter and clearer than the second. The first morning in particular was really nice. This really is my favorite place in the LA area. Where else can you drive 45 minutes, haul out a 45 lb bag, and 9 hours later be completely alone in a camp all to yourself. The following morning I had a visit from a large black bear while I was enjoying my coffee at my camp; can’t beat that!
