I work in San Francisco, and throughout the brighter months of 2015 I'd go out after work with my camera for some opportunistic shooting. When the season changed and the sun set before the end of my workdays, I stopped these after-hour excursions. Until recently.

Armed with a tripod, a trio of Olympus OM lenses, and a Metabones Speed Booster, I took on the challenge of shooting without sunlight. I will do this more often.

These shots are from two evenings in January, shooting with the EM5ii and 24/2.8, 50/1.4, and 100/2.8 lenses.

These are amazing. I particularly like the second one, bike and car.

I have been driving past that freeway on ramp for the last 15+ years, but the picture gave me a completely new view of it. Love that.

There are several compositional elements making this work so well but the not so obvious element is the reverse gradation. Our eyes are so conditioned to viewing scapes which move from dark to light up the image that seeing the opposite gives the brain a tweak. It did for me anyway. The opposing bike and car, one sharp and still the other a flash of movement creates a juxtaposition for the eye. A real winner. Thanks for sharing.
I just joined this group so must dig out some of mine to share.

    guess?
Assuming the OM Zuikos... and no interference issues. Have you tried any of the wider Zuikos?

Yup, OM Zuiko lenses. No interference with the Speed Booster, though I've seen a YouTube video that shows the 24/2.8 needs modification to fit a Fuji-mount Speed Booster. Haven't tried anything wider.

I'm trying to get some data together on exactly which of my old Zuikos would work. Gotta be more than a few to justify the price of admission. I was hoping for the wide-wides but they have a protruding rear element and protecting metal bit. Not holding out much hope. MB support has no idea either.

This guy modified his 24/2.8 to work on the Fuji Speed Booster.

Unless I am completely mistaken that is the carpool on-ramp to the Bay Bridge from Bryant Street coming from Beale St. Looking at the clock tower, I am guessing that was 100/2.8 taken from some along the opposite of Bryant. And maybe not on the street level?

The more I look at them, the better they get, I must say it was really worth the effort going around at unusual times to get these shots taken, well done.

You're right, here's another look at the same ramp (from a couple months ago).

Thanks! I definitely need to change things up more often this year.

Those are lovely. Some of the nicest night shot rendering I've seen. I really like the bird shot.

Great shots, the cityscape has so much more character at night! Really like the colors.

Are you still at the same place? I was sorry to see the tech podcast you were on sort of go by the wayside.

My DIY projects turn into SIUBY (Screw it up by yourself) projects. I don't want to mess with my old Zuikos. :).
