Beach Camera is offering the Samsung NX1000 with 20-50mm zoom lens for $299 via Amazon.com. Only 12 left as I type this.

Amazon.com: Samsung NX1000 Black ~ 20.3MP Digital Camera with 20-50mm Lens: SAMSUNG: Camera & Photo

This is a compact camera with an APS-C sensor for $299. This is essentially the same camera as the new NX1100 without Lightroom 4 included. If you're interested in the NX series but want to only dip your toe into the pool without spending much money, this is the way to go. However, the NX1100 can be had for $100 more. If you want or need Lightroom, that is also a great deal.

    You, sir, are evil.

  8. The 20-50mm is meant to be a very decent (albeit unstabilised) kit zoom. The 30mm pancake is the lens to have, however.

Pretty impressive deal, for a camera with a sensor that has slightly more dynamic range (12.5 EV) than any in the Micro 4/3 family.

    How about 85mm 1.4???

  15. Don't know a whole lot about it, to be honest. I've seen some great images taken with it but it is not a focal length that I would get a lot of use out of and I am currently treating Samsung as my compact ILC system (NX200, 20 & 30mm pancake lenses only). My two Micro 4/3 bodies and lenses are ironically my larger sized gear.

It is the camera I never wanted, at a price I still wouldn't pay.

Who needs yet another system camera that is a NEX "me-too", lol.

    Was that harsh?... lol

But with a better selection of native primes than NEX
