Samsungs aren't all that bad - If you are a DXO Mark follower, you'll see that the NX200 favors slightly better than the E-P3....

Damn... the bokeh from this lens is sooooo creamy. Now I got this little voice whispering into my ear saying, "Abe... if you have this lens, you too can take such pictures."

    I haven't met many 85mm/1.4's that I didn't like. :) Try the Samyang version for 4/3, Abe...

If you do not wish to be tempted, do not hang around the devil's nest.

Yes, that's what we are. >:D

Great pictures, all of them, and obviously a great lens. However, is it so much better than a 75mm f1.8 to justify running two systems or migrating from :43: ?

    Re-thinking this...
I *think* what we're seeing here is that small narrow DOF difference between APS-C and Micro Four Thirds being exploited by a really fast lens.

Justification? - Well that's an individual choice

Yes, there is bound to be a difference due to the Samsung being 10mm longer in focal length and about half a stop faster, plus of course the slight DOF advantage of APS-C format. Having said that, the Zuiko 75mm does a pretty decent job of defocusing the background and I was wondering whether the Samsung achieves this noticably better in practice. It would be great to see some comparisons of the same scene.

You're right about individual choice, each of us can only make our own decision.

Samsung NX 85/1.4 is great. Too bad NX300 is the only camera that does this lens justice.

You better get yourself some hot models to 'justify' this lens.

That's why I said I'm waiting for the NX300 to come down in price

I'm gonna make it worse: You can buy this lens NEW on ebay for $700 - which is the same price used Olympus 75mm f1.8 lenses go for.

When you consider that an NX300 body can be had for about $520, and an NX1000 body for about $235, It's hard not to rationalize getting a dedicated body just to own this lens.
