I'm still in Tanzania, just off the back of a great 5 days in Manyara, Ngorogoro and of course Serengeti National Park. Will post more extensive thoughts and more pictures when I get back home in a week and a half or so.

Gear thoughts:
- the E-M1 coupled to the 43 50-200 SWD and 1.4x teleconverter is a perfect safari combo. Fast focus, sharp, and compact for the speed and angle of view you get.
- assigning mysets to the front two buttons (shutter priority with and without tracking AF) works great to adjust for action.
- AF is very good, only very occasionally hunts. Not as good as the native options but still near as good as the canon 100-400 I had with a 5DII I took to South Africa.
- with near zero chimping and brief review of the day's shots, I managed 468 shots per battery (2 OEM, 2 DSTEs). The OEMs lasted a little longer (490-ish) but the difference wasn't huge.
- didn't use the 12-40 at all. Occasionally shot the 7-14, and most landscape stuff was handled with aplomb by the a7r and 55/1.8 or 35/2.8. If the upcoming Zeiss ultrawide is good that will replace the 35 and the 12-40 for traveling with wildlife, I think.

And now the big 5. Well, big 4 and a rhino that's basically a dot. Ahem.

Thanks! The E-M1 is running the 1.4 firmware. Didn't really shoot the 50-200 enough prior to the update to notice any major differences.

He also got hit up by an A7r, so he can't complain. He got Zeiss and Oly High Grade pointed at him ;)
