Post photos of things that have been "ruined." Interpret as you see fit...

A fairly new home - demolished to make room for a back garden. That's what the 1% can do.

A Cistercian abbey, situated near Helmsley in the North York Moors National Park, that came under Henry VIII's infamous "Dissolution" of the monastical houses in the 1538; probably best visited when the weather isn't too good.

Land's End, Cornwall, UK, inspired by Honest Dave's Used Car Lot.

£6 to park your car for the privilege of paying £5 for a ropey pastie (cash only, no cards - the smaller shops can't buy lines for card terminals, allegedly) and visit a lot of 'souvenir' shops.

Don't even think about a selfie by the iconic sign - that's now roped off and you need to pay a local about 15 quid for a print. Of course, you could wait until he goes home, but then you'll see that most of the sign goes home with him :)

It's called private enterprise - and it's what happens when The National Trust gets outbid on a location as famous as this.

Don't waste your time or money. There are plenty of other places to visit for free nearby.

I'd like to see more "ruined" as opposed to "ruins",
RichardC's post being right on the mark!
(Maybe also WRay's with regard to the native British culture of the time...)
I'm wracking my brains for pics along these lines ...
