All photos taken on August 26, 2020, with E-M1 II + 12-100mm F4, and processed with Capture One Pro 20.

These gardens are located in The Riverwood Conservancy, a park located near my house. I'm not a huge fan of flowers or gardening or anything like that (maybe because of allergies), but my mom is so I bring her here, and it is fun to photograph (despite my allergies).

I don't know much about flowers, so I am unable to label them for you guys. Sorry about that. Of course, I can recognize some like dandelion, sunflower, hydrangea, hibiscus, but I know exact species or anything like that. If you guys can identify them, that would be interesting, especially for my mom.

I have to say overall these flowers were much easier and more fun to photograph than my mom's flowers, maybe because my shoulder is no longer broken. But after 15 years using a 1/1.8" sensor camera I'm still getting used to the shallow DOF of m4/3, and I often find that the DOF in the photos is shallower than I intended. Sometimes things are out of focus that probably shouldn't be, and maybe you noticed this mistake in some of these photos as well (I also did not expect 12-100mm to have such nice bokeh when I bought it, but that's another issue). I have set a button for focus peaking and another for magnifying the view but I still haven't practised using them yet.

I think maybe I am still not used to holding a camera with a grip vertically. The front-heavyness of a camera with an interchangeable lens is also new to me, and 12-100mm F4 is not a small lens either. Maybe it makes framing a composition more difficult. Sometimes photos are not as sharp as I expected and maybe my lack of experience holding a front-heavy, SLR-style camera also contributes to that. I still have a lot to learn (and maybe some working out to do as well).

(edit: 2021/07/14: all photos reselected, re-edited, reuploaded, and the photos that were in this second post removed or moved to the first post because I am no longer over the 20 photo per post limit)
