This picture is from yesterday, taken at Pacifica, CA. There was a high surf advisory, and we went out there to see the big waves. It was extremely windy. I shot this with my G1 and a manual focus Nikkor 300mm f4.5, braced with a monopod. http://fototime.com/EC20EFAE3044697/orig.jpg" border=0 alt="Hosting provided by FotoTime"> --Warren
Thanks! I may do a B&W version of this, or perhaps on some other pics from that session when I have time. IMO, that splash of color from the churned up sand or dirt, or whatever that was, added to the image. --Warren

I really like the first image and would like to see the white wave tips a little lighter so they emphasize the rough sea without being blown out. Great dramatic shots though and had to look hard at first one as at first glance I thought there was a surfer stood on a rock with thier board!!
Santa Cruz resident here - I was a dummy for not getting down to the coast to see the churn, especially since it's right down the street. Great shot.
"Restless Boy" It looks like he was jumping into the water, but there's a beach under the railing that he's jumping onto  http://fototime.com/BD036C90DB902CF/orig.jpg" border=0 alt="Hosting provided by FotoTime"> Lumix G1, Nikkor 300mm f4.5 ai --Warren
