I decided to take some photos of the "super moon" last night. I figured a really quick and easy way to focus the lens was to set it to manual focus and then turn the camera power off and back on again.

Since I set "Reset Lens" (custom menu A) to On, this is supposed to reset the lens to infinity at every power cycle.

However while this did reset the focus to a different point; it was not focused on the moon (which I figure is as close to infinity as I'm likely to get).

It's not a huge deal and I love my E-M5 in every other way. I'm just wondering if I'm missing something or if this is a common problem. Either way, I'll live with it.

If it matters, I was using my Oly 40-150R lens (the longest FL I own).

    1. Moon isn't always infinity.
    2. Lens infinity may be past infinity.

It'll be one of these two reasons unfortunately you'll have to manually focus the moon even if it's at true infinity.

Not the same issue (reset != infinity), but I have noticed on my EPL5 that "Reset Lens" doesn't make any difference whether it's set on or off.

The lens focus still does the same reset every time.
