Can someone please clarify which cable release I need for the e-m5 ii? Is it the rm-uc1?

Grab the PDF... unlike paper, it's searchable. ;)

    1)Mobile phone app.
    2) external trigger like neweer, or smth. As cheap.
    3) 2s timer.

I've had great success using the app for those times when I want a remote release. Very cheap and you almost always have your mobile with you.

I was looking for one awhile back, but ended up using the "OI Share" app that works great and for much more than just releasing the shutter.

I have a generic shutter release with built in timer/intervalometer that I used with my E-P1. Annoyingly it doesn't work on my E-M5. I need to try it on my E-PM1 before I blame the release; I suspect it just doesn't interface properly with the newer models.
Its exactly like this but a different brand (wouldn't be surprised if they all come out of the same factory).
I may need to bite the bullet and just get another one that is more modern.
I'd prefer not to use a smart phone - 2xAA batteries and a remote-shutter will run for years without messing around with a phone & app.
