sent to panasonic for firmware problem I created ---screwed up update. Told me cost would probably run around 300.00. I authorized repair and rec'd my lens back in about 2 weeks. To my surprise I checked my credit card and see they only charged me 65.00---can't complain. Checked out my lens ---as good as new. Hats off to pany.

$65 is a reasonable fee for a firmware fix. Maybe $300 was just a threat.

300 is probably a flat rate repair which covers the cost of replacing the main board if they couldn't flash firmware to it.
