A few weeks back I wanted to do some portrait work on the beach with the Oly 45, wide open. However, too much light was hitting the sensor on this sunny day. I'll be going back to the beach soon and would like some recommendations on ND filters.

I'm looking for your valued recommendations

    Many thanks !

Do NOT get the B+W ND 0.9 8x

The Oly 45 has a standard thread pitch of 0.75mm while this particular B+W one has a thread pitch of 0.50mm resulting in a thread-mismatch.

I know this from my own experience..

So I got a Tiffen instead....

You probably already bought an ND filter in the mean time.

I bought a Kenko Zeta ND8 52mm as I have step-ups from 46mm and 37mm. Quite expensive, but it's very good, helps me use wider apertures. It's not dark enough to get slow shutter speeds & motion in bright light. Other Hoya/Kenko MC will be probably be alright as well.

Good to know! I was going to suggest the B+W since I have three but they are all 58mm from my Canon system and I have yet to use them on my Olympus glass.

If I were to get just one ND it would be a variable but I own a 3, 6 and a 10.
