I am looking for budget M42 and FD fit lenses anywhere between £10-150. I've recently bought a Canon FD 50mm f1.8 (chrome fronted) from ebay which I found for £30 with no fungus or problems but can anyone recommend any decent lenses within that price range? Thanks

There's a whole host of Canon FD lenses that you can get within that price range. The 24mm, the 28mm, the 35mm, the (faster) 50mm, the 85mm, the 100mm, and the 135mm can all be had in good condition for less than £150 on eBay or KEH. With the exception of the 28mm, all of those lenses had incredible models somewhere in their run (and the 28mm was a fine lens that you can get for dirt cheap). The 24/2.8 would be a nice standard on µ4/3. The 50/1.4 was a god amongst lenses. The praises of the 85mm /1.8 are sung loudly by its many owners. FD was good glass. If you're looking for quality, cheap adapted lenses that's a fine pool to pick from. It really becomes more about what focal lengths you like to shoot at.

    I got the 135mm for £35, 28mm for £20, I've got the zuiko 50mm f1.8 aswell :). After a 85mm f1.2 and a chrome nose 55mm f1.2 but very expensive :(

Made a deal yesterday to buy a Minolta 45/2 for € 15. I won't pay more than € 15 for any Minolta standard lens 1.7 or slower. And I got a deal on a Minolta MD Tele Rokkor 135/2.8 for € 17,50, which is a little below my limit of € 25 for that type of lens. Sorry, not FD or M42, but prices are in the same ballpark for those.

Canon FD 50mm 1.4 goes for around £50 on ebay UK - stick to sellers with good feedback and good description and pictures of the lens and you should be okay.

This may be helpful for ideas: Flickr: Discussing Which FD lenses are considered to be "CLASSIC LENSES"? in Canon FD

No idea of average prices though apart from for the 1.4.

As above, also look at Minolta - some good lenses at low prices and an adapter is only around £10. (Some people like to have an adapter for each lens to avoid faffing around although I don't bother as I mostly use Minolta MD so just leave that adapter attached to the camera body and swap lenses, I only have one Yashica C/Y lens and one FD so for those I just leave the adapter on the lens).

    UK :)

Everything is mechanically perfect, no fungus or anything. Some internal dust, but you never notice this in photos. As long as the rear element is clear, I think it's ok.

I can highly recommend the 24 f2.8 lovely lens I stupid sold mine last year meaning to buy the Panasonic 25mm but haven't yet, keep meaning to pickup another as I was really impressed with the shots and sharpness, probably my ideal focal length.
