I have the DCR150 and for getting close on a tight budget its a very good option. Its well made and produces very sharp images. It does work much better on longer telephoto lenses though. At 42mm it doesn't offer much of an increase in magnification. Also, the standard adapter won't fit on the 14-42 iir, you'd need to get the optional 37mm adaptor ring, which might add vignetting.

I went for the 150 because I read several reviews that said the 250 was very difficult to handle due to the ultra shallow DOF. The 250 might well be a better option if you're using it on a 14-42 iir though due to the higher magnification it will offer.

I'm not a critical macro guy, but I use the DCR-150 with that lens sometimes. I find resolution to be fine. It vignettes at the wider focal lengths, though. I've also used it on the 40-150mm as well.

Oh, and you'll need a step up ring for the kit lens.

I don't have any pictures taken with the 14-42mm ii r and Raynox DCR-150, but I do have a picture of the 14-42mm taken with the Raynox

Taken on my Canon at 32mm, which should equate to about 26mm on our MFT sensor.
