Just a few shots from the last week. Still getting comfortable with the E-M5 but I'm loving it so far. I think my next lens purchase will be a macro. The 60mm/2.8 looks promising! C&C welcome and appreciated!

Which lens did you use? Exif data says 54mm, maybe the FT zoom?

I love the colors of the first one and the hidden little spider!

Anyhow, as you seem to have a 150mm too:
I used the 14-150 and the 40-150 lenses for macro. With a Marumi +3 macro lens i got very good results, especially with the 40-150. Nearly the quality of the macro lens (did a comparison) for a much smaller price.

In fact the tele-macro thing works so good that I don't buy the 60mm and take my new 75-300 tele as the new close-up/macro workhorse instead.

I really like numbers 2, 3, 5 and 7. 1 & 4 didn't do much for me - #1 doesn't seem sharp enough and #4 isn't really that interesting (to me.) The moon shot is nice and sharp, but I'd prefer it a bit off center.

I would like to see more DoF on the Tulip and the Clear Sap. I particularly like your moon shot (moon shooting is an art unto itself), but I also like the White Blossom Tree and the Humble Beginnings.

Thanks for the notes guys! This is my first time owning a non P&S camera so I'm still getting to understand the tool.

Yea they were all either with the 45-150 or the oly FT 14-54 mkii (my current favorite outdoor lens). I'll have to give the Macro lens a try. Certainly a much cheaper alternative!

I have a few of the flower petals in #1 sharp, but they ended up a bit... boring? The moon shot was more a "proof of concept" exercise. I could have cropped it more off center, and I'll probably go back and do that since you're right, it looks almost sterile and rigid in the center of the frame.

One of my short comings as a very newbie... I get fixated on a particular element of the frame. I was so fixated on the sap itself that I didn't realize the rest of the bud was barely in focus until later! probably the same reason a put the moon in the center of the frame. Definitely something to work on.
You're not kidding about the moon shooting. I tried a lot of combinations for settings before I got to that shot. The hardest part for me was the mental block of shooting something with daytime settings at night in the dark.

Danny, nice fungus! How do you like the WA converter? Been thinking of picking one up for tmy 14/2.5

Sam, that was one of those moments... It was ridiculously clear that night. I also live 3 miles from NYC so light pollution is always an issue. I haven't been able to get another as good as that one.
