22 minutes later…

The rain had been heavy enough to obscure the ridge line ~8 miles (~12 km) away.

This was taken in the Arequipa region of Peru near the town of Condoroma. Altitude here is about 4,730M or 15,518 feet. We were riding our motorcycle and somehow managed to dodge these heavy rain showers all day long :)

I didn't mind the rain, it was kind of refreshing and a change to the sunshine I saw further west on my trip along Route 50 from west to east.
In general I like rain, it cools you down ad gives the air another quality, it feels fresher!

If Rain is your thing - then enjoy a book-full of wonderful pictures - Monsoon, By Steve McCurry.

The book is a larger version of his National Geographic article.

Now that's what I call "leading lines"

If its raining and you are stuck at home looking for inspiration - then spend a few minutes enjoying a collection of the photo's from the book, free to view, on the Steve McCurry Website at - https://stevemccurry.com/galleries/monsoon-0

The book seems to be out of print - but I recently got a copy secondhand - and its 100 pages of great inspiration!

Best wishes to you all - Paul C
