Question on G1 preview screen

I had thought I could preview (ala live view) my shots and zoom in prior to shooting to aid in focusing with manual lenses- Am I mistaken or ?

On the G1 you can achieve a preview of exposure/DoF/shutter speed by pressing the Delete button, followed by Display.

and zoom in prior to shooting to aid in focusing with manual lenses

If using a manual lens:
To zoom in for focus press the AF Mode button, followed by Display.

If using an AF lens this can also be achieved by:
in MF mode: turning the focus ring
AF-S mode: turning the focus ring while half-pressing the shutter button

AFAIK, in AF-C mode the zoom focus preview is not available.

Great - I'm glad that my description was clear enough!

Regarding the User Manual... yes, it's certainly not the best out there (though probably not the worst either...)
