I have a Lumix G2 which I really enjoy using. My question relates to how the images get their number in the camera. Here is an example - _1110485, _1110486, _1110487, _1110488, _1110489, _1110502, _1110503, _1110504,_111505, P1110490, P1110491, P1110492, P1110493 and so on. Notice after _1110489 comes _1110502 and …490 comes later. Some images are prefaced with a “P” and then placed out of sequence at the end of the images taken.
What causes this and how can I correct it? Is this in the camera or something about the card?

My GF1 works the same way. I have it set to use Adobe RGB, which causes the underscore ( _ ) in the file number. However, in point & shoot mode, "iA", it reverts to sRGB, and the file number starts with a "P". P's come later in the alphanumeric sort order.

    Thanks Mike,

That makes sense. I normally do not use "iA" but sometimes I hit it by accident and it may be on for several shots. That solves the problem. I'll just have to be more careful. Thanks again.

If the G2 has the same setting as the G3, you might consider setting the iA button behavior to "hold". That way you have to actually hold the button down for ~2sec before the iA mode activates. Eliminates accidental toggle almost completely.

Thanks for that tip. I'll check that out. If the G2 has that option, it will definitely be valuable.
