Freo.Social describes itself as “Freo newest oldest venue” as it is located in the now restored Artillery Drill Hall. Freo.Social is both a bar and a brewery. The Otherside Brewery is located behind the bar and is a five-hectolitre brewery.
The Artillery Drill Hall (fmr) was built for the volunteer guard in Fremantle in 1896, who were responsible for civil defence, and was used as a training facility during World War II.

Sadly not.
My wife reminded me that we once went into the Kings Head when we were "courting".
As it's our 45th wedding anniversary today I can't seem to recall that particular occasion (and no, I wasn't too drunk to remember!)

From a few years ago, a couple of bars in the "Uptown" district of Oklahoma City.
This first one is the Pump, a converted gas station. Large patio area, very popular with the hipster crowd. The wife and I think of ourselves as "the cute old couple" hanging out with the young'uns.
Next is "The Bunker", a very cool Cold War-themed place. Lots of vintage TVs playing propaganda footage from the '50s. Owned by the same couple who own the Pump. Great people.

Another one from my archives.
This is the Landoger Trow in Bristol.
It opened in 1664 and is named after the local flat-bottomed boats that used to sail up the River Avon into Bristol.
Sadly, it closed for business in 2019 and was still Locked-up when we walked past just before the Lock-down.

This one is a blast from the past (from 2003).
At the time this was the only pub in Shrewsbury (and one of only a few in the whole country) that was smoke free.
It's such a lovely quaint place and served excellent home-cooked meals.
It was a real pleasure to dine there without someone on the next table blowing smoke across and stinking the place (and your clothes) out.
Thankfully all pubs in the UK are now smoke-free and we enjoy using them for the occasional meal out.

We seem to be having a Bristol theme going on at the moment, so here's our favourite pub, alongside the Floating Harbour.
I guess it's one of the original dockside pubs, and while there are plenty of trendy new drinking establishments in the area, this one has kept it's traditional look and feel.
It looks pretty unprepossessing from the outside, but the charm is all on the inside. It's obviously a pub for the locals, but we've been welcomed there each time we've popped in for a meal, when staying at the nearby caravan site. Thankfully two of the regulars didn't chase us out when we disturbed them in the saloon bar.

Interestingly - I was thinking of those dreadful smoke filled places (but in NZ), in the 70s, 80's when everything you wore when out for a meal or a drinks had to go in the washing machine when you arrived home. I wonder how many of us have lung damage from all that passive smoking?

From a couple of years ago. Martinborough Hotel, affectionately known as the "Marty" by locals. It was very run down when we grew up there in the fifties and sixties. Then someone bought it, and spent a couple of million to turn it into quite the place. I have been in the suites/rooms upstairs, and they are luxurious. In NZ.

That's really well captured Peter.
I've tried on a few occasions and it's very difficult because of the light in the narrow street and the covered archway you shot it through.
