Bought a Promaster remote for my E-M1 & E-M5 about half a year ago when my Velo remote died. Really liked the Promaster because the cable is thin & flexible. Gradually it became intermittent w/ the E-M5. Had to fiddle w/ the connector to get connection. My Hahnel wireless remote would always work. Eventually they both failed. Then the same sequence happened w/ the E-M1.
Even though the remote function doesn't work, I can still connect the cameras to the USB port on my computer & download files. That implies only a couple of the contacts in the USB port are not working.
So I'm now looking at almost $370 in repairs from Oly for the 2 cameras.
Any of you had problems w/ 3rd party remotes, USB connector & your Oly cameras?
