    Hi Folks,

Here's another image processing challenge for you.

My brother in law rediscovered some negatives belonging to his Great Grandfather. The negatives were 6x9 (2 1/4 x 2 3/4). They were in the original processing envelope.

    The year is between 1947 & 1949.
The Town is Wenatchee, WA . USA
The Equipment is a horse drawn combine

These are the scans from the negatives. Process them, and post them. Lets see what you can do!!

Very cool  My Grandmother recently gave me a collection of slides from my Grandfather's attempt at the Overland Track in 1942.

I'll watch this thread with interest!

I'm too busy with work to play. But you may have overwhelmed everyone Alan, by offering up 4 pretty similar shots. I may try one this weekend if I find any time.

I have to say they already have a lot of character..not much I would change. How does one add faux vintage processing to a legitimately old shot? ;)

I love them the way they are. Sorry if that's kind of lame.

    Hi Guys,

The 4 shots you see here, are all that there is. The scans are right from the negatives.

    Try looking at this way:

They had not been printed, just developed.

If you were the photographer, how would you have processed to print?
    Would you have cropped?
What paper would you have printed on?
    Would you dodge or burn?

For all the rest of you wise guys, I was too old to drive a combine when these shots were taken, it was young mans work..

Nice! That's a cool take on the negs.

I think folks felt they were defacing a historic record, they're not. Everything ever printed was printed with an "idea in mind" of the finished product.

Were just doing some darkroom work...

I couldn't really come up with a way to make them better, so I just made one different. This is a most disheartening harvest.....
