I found this movie shot with a GH2. I thought it was wonderful and showed the great capability of this format.

Exactly. The GH2 wasn't released until Novemberish IIRC. Maybe the guy had a prerelease model?

His name is Bruce Dale, there are many references to his posts using the GH2 on the Indie Film Talk board.

Apparently it's drawing some interest from that crowd. I've actually tried to find my way back to the post so that I could provide you a link...

Hi John,

Here's a short bio of Bruce Dale... he's been shooting exclusively for Nat Geo for 30 years. that would explain his having a "pre release" GH2 for some summer footage.

He has other videos shot with the GH2 on you tube..

Pulled from his web site:

For 30 years I had the good fortune of working exclusively for National Geographic. My assignments varied from undersea to aerial photography and from people to complex science subjects while working in over 75 countries. During that time over 2,000 of my images appeared in their publications and many of them became memorable to me. Friends, who have encouraged me to share some of the stories and lessons I've learned, are the incentive for this website.

Since you tweaked my curiosity, here;s the blurb on the video from vimeo.
This is a slightly edited and audio version of my earlier Northern Michigan Shores video.

Photographs in villages and along the shores of northern Michigan. I went to Traverse City for a wedding planning to spend two days. Instead, I stayed almost two weeks.

Shot with Lumix GH2. Mostly with 14-140 lens. Portraits with 45 f2.8 and a few with the 7-14 Lumix lens

OK Alan, I guess that I had him confused with surf guitarist Dick Dale LOL! Maybe he did have a prerelease model, in which case I'm envious. Thx for sharing!

Great video and great camera!
I have the GH2 with 14-140mm kit lens and I've never been so excited about a camera before!

Behind The Camera. But home is in Montreal.
I am IN LOVE with this video and it gave m inspiration to create one.

What makes a video stand above many others, is about its well crafted script, taping the scenes as planned and at wonderful locations, and tell your story in such poetry.

In a single photo you may tell a lot, but it is harder to create an amazing video without making yourself look like a fool. It is harder indeed. At least to me.

I like the video quality better in his other GH2 video.

He did have a "pre-release" model. Check out his other one "Summer Morning". Both show what this camera is capable of with stock firmware.
