I have just bought my first dedicated pro photo printer - a Canon Pro 9500 mark 11 and I have to say the results and ease of use are superb. They easily outshine what I have been able to get from ordering from stores (admittedly I live in Thailand) and most importantly the output matches my monitor. Setup is a breeze (although it would have been nice if the printer had wifi.) The printer itself uses 10 inks in total. However, the reason for the post is this. I paid US$650 for the printer here in Thailand and the machine is actually built here. (They dont like to give them away as virtually noone (but me) actually uses Canon ink or paper with them.) I still think it is very fair value at that price. In the US, the current price for this printer is insane - it is US$199 (after a US$300 mail back) for a US$800 RRP printer (at B&H). If you consider that a full set of inks is US$150, you are paying US$50 for the printer.
