Potter Wasp – the Nomad’s Neighbour

    - at sunrise. Found in the same field as the various bees I've been posting. Using Panny G1 and Oly 50/f2.

    Thanks V. The lighting is based on the principles I have outlined here : Macro Illustrated « Nature's Place - needs updating to include the G1, Oly 50/f2 and the FL36 : about halfway down the page if I remember right.

    In this shot the sun is rising to my left and falling on long grass behind wasp, my diffuser is blocking sun from hitting wasp direct and flash is TTL. There's a 'drop' of water covering the bright area of the wasps face.

    Thanks Ian. It's an inch long wasp so not high mags and the tail is turned towards me for more in focus.
