just had the BBC news on

The White House is now snowy white

UK watchers - will we beat the Welsh? won the same number of games each with 12 drawn - if England don't play well I'll cry, (well not quite)

Ain't got none here yet along the coast of the Metro NY area...

Oh such an exciting weekend for contact sports lovers there and here.

If it's on the BBC it must be true 25cm in Washington - I thought that was next door

Allez Angleterre!!

About 4 1/2 hours (if there were no traffic jams on the NJ turnpike:flypig:) southwest of us here. They say we might get 1-3 inches but I believe Don can attest to getting a fair bit of snow in the City of Brotherly Love... The NY Times has some nice DC snow photos on their website. Take a look see: http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2010/02/06/us/0206-SNOW_index.html

Still coming down in Virginia, we are over 2feet on the ground. I've only ventured out to clear drifts from the Heat Pump.

We're lucky to have power. Schools have already announced they are closing Monday and Tuesday.

Sun is supposed to make an appearance tomorrow. Will get some shots then.

Just a quick few grab shots. Poked my head out the Garage. Grabbed the vintage Nikon Coolpix 600. Uses CF cards.

This Coolpix 600 was a thrift store find. It cost more than an EP1 when new. It's metal construction. Maybe an EP1 would be a nice replacement for it.

nice photos - snow is great, (for the first few days!)

just waiting for someone to say

"that's global warming for you"

or as the NY Times says

"residents are racing to stock up"

I'm guessing we'll see another heavy downfall in the UK before the spring... actually, I love it!

Thanks for the shots Don, Brian

Cheers

An igloo in Annapolis, Maryland via our daughter's cell phone. There is a lot more snow there now than when she took it. Driving was designated "illegal" in Annapolis yesterday and last night.

I was thinking of taking my Thorium lenses, smashing them, and lacing the driveway with them. Closest I can get to Cobalt Seeding. After shoveling a footpath to the car, and digging it out- "nuclear is an option".

Not Fun. A herd of Deer made a small path, I widened it to get to the Car. Then took about 1 Hour to dig it out of the Snowdrift.

I'm paying someone with a Snowplow to clear the driveway.

The stuff isn't going away for a while, and more is expected this week.

Too much snow to play in, Nikki taking a break from Homework. The teachers gave a lot of it as they knew school will be out for a while. Also, flare test for the newly converted 1940 Sonnar, now in Leica mount.

Wow you were really inundated down there. That's quite a driveway to have to deal with - glad to hear you've got a snowplow coming.

I hope your daughter gets out to enjoy herself in the snow tomorrow in between the piles of homework!

Still waiting to hear from ours down in Maryland...to see just how deep, etc.

The snowplow cleared the first Blizzard's snow away on Monday, and we "only" had 8"~10" on this one. We were just south -like a couple of miles- from the area that got creamed with blizzard conditions all day. Alexandria and DC were closer to 20".

I got out last night with the Electric Leaf Blower. If you get it early, before it packs down, it works. Use it like a sand blaster. Went out this morning to do the rest. I'll get pictures tomorrow, too sick of the stuff to do any today!

You think the post office would use '1A'x and save the digits.

The driveway. Nina and Nikki, Nikki is tired of being housebound.

I hired a snowplow to do the first blizzard, I did the second one.

Pine trees do not like snow.

It's rare that Virginia gets hit harder with snow than New York!

Nina is from New York originally, and went to McGill University in Montreal. She's ready for Florida after this!
