Yes it is and I won a prize in a competition with this pic - free entry to the Falkirk Wheel!

It's less than a mile from my house! And there is a cart there that sells the best ice cream in Scotland.

Congratulations on your win. Did you go on the very slow boat?

Pink Cushion Roses

I've really loved my EPL-1 and have used it for just about everything from my daughter's soccer games to macro work while my canon gear sits in a cabinet gathering dust . I had a hard time choosing a photo but thought I would go ahead and submit this one of some very tiny roses taken using the Olympus Zuiko 50mm f3.5 Macro lens at f16

great shot! love the composition and its ultra sharp. exif info?

It was shot with an IR converted (715nm by Precision Camera) Panasonic GH1.

The lens was a Contax G 35/2 on an adapter, 1/500, f/5.6, 100 ISO.

Shot RAW and converted with a custom camera profile in LR2.

The sharpness is 100% due to the Contax lens...if you don't mind screwing with kludgy adapters, they are THE best lens out there. Amazingly sharp.

Regards....Rich

The Wrong Turn?

One day in November, quite by chance, I took a wrong turn at a roundabout and found myself at Prestongrange, a hidden delight of photographic wonders.

Not sure its really my best image from 2010, but this image remains one of my favourites from last year simply because it marked an important turning point on my view to my work/life balance. Some times the wrong turns turn out to be the right ones, and for me this one has set me exploring a new track. Metaphorically speaking, now I just need to catch the right train! Not the one pictured above though, its a bit rickety!

Picture taken with my e-p2 and oly 14-150mm lens, using the cross process art filter.
