Entry #1
Opened in ACR - daylight color - Adobe Landscape.
I used a bit of dodging in the shadows and a bit of burning in the light area of the river.
sent to Topaz Studio 2 for some micro contrast adjustment.
I used HSL adjustment to bring out the aqua color of the river. It reminded me of how the lakes look in that area.
A very slight crop to finish.

Ugh... if I end up hosting future contests, I'm going to have to find images that are easier to judge. Once again, there are many fine entries, and I appreciate everyone's editing efforts. In the end, I went with the uploads that I thought most closely evoked the look and feel of actually being there, shivering in the morning mist coming off the falls, and waiting for the sun to finally show itself from behind the mountain.

2nd runner up: @Rob Rider #1
1st runner up: @Robert Davidson #2

And the winner... @betamax #1, for getting the greens just right, and for what I think is an overall beautiful rendering of the scene.

Over to you, Alan...

Thanks Greg! That was a stunning landscape to work with, and challenging due to the shadows. Lots of great entries too. I had to dig deep into my library to pick something that hopefully is a worthy successor for the next challenge which I'll be posting shortly.
