This was taken last year in Offerle, KS, while I was on a road-trip driving Route 50.
I know I have shown this picture before on µ-43, but please don't look at it but do your own thing, I want to see YOUR take on this.

Contest will close at Thursday midnight wherever you are.

72-Hour Post-Processing Challenge Rules

The Challenge Master provides an image to be "improved" upon by way of post-processing, as well as a closing date for entries. The master may provide multiple images for challenges involving blending procedures common to most software packages (e.g., HDR, Panorama).

Entrants are to post their entries, visible in this thread, at a resolution of 1000 to 1600 pixels in the longest dimension, prior to the closing date. Each entrant is allowed two entries in the Challenge. Please mark entries clearly by number. Please Note: Entrants are encouraged to enter their best efforts even if this means replacing versions. Please do this by editing the post containing the image you wish to change and note the replacement in a comment in the edited posting.

At the close of the Challenge, the Challenge Master will select a Winner and Runners-up.
The Winner of the challenge is honoured as the Master of the next Challenge.

Notes:

The image used for the challenge must be the Challenge Master's own image. The image is posted solely for the purpose of this Challenge; it is not posted to invite critique or criticism nor for other uses. If Entrants post their entries at a photo sharing site, they should credit the owner of the original image.

"Improve" is a subjective term, and may include many creative ideas, as well as traditional "fixing". The Challenge Master agrees that Entrants may make any changes they deem fit in their entries.

Entrants are strongly encouraged to share the tools and techniques used for their entries, however this is not a requirement for entry.

As we all know, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. The Challenge Master is encouraged (but not required) to state the criteria used to decide upon a Winner. While we may not all agree with the result, the Challenge Master's decision is final. Please refrain from posting adverse comment.

If the Winner is unable to post a new Challenge within five days, the honour passes to the next Runner-up.

Faux-HDR in Aurora. In PS corrected perspective, removed chromatc aberration on the small roof on the left, cloned out the wires and the traffic sign, 16/9 cropping, noise reduction, sharpening, a bit of Pro contrast (nik).

Wonderful artwork. Edited raw file in DXO PL2, added some Clearview, changed light levels a bit, applied chromatic aberration correction, then exported as a tiff file, which I then opened in Elements. Did some "illegal" stuff on the left, removed electric lines and other stuff, cropped, then used Noiseware plugin to decrease noise, used ON1 Effects to add some dynamic contrast and increase color,

The mural is wonderful. As far as I can tell, it is unremarked on the internet. Many thanks for being there and noticing it.

Much like @MonikaO, I thought I would embellish the artist's conceit of breaking the frame.

Exposure tweaks in Adobe Camera Raw.
Two Smart Objects, Original and, for the mother and daughter figures, pumped.
Lots of layers.
Color blend for the greening of the concrete.
New sky.
Some inpainting on the mother.

Entry 1. Something different with the help of a stock photo.

Took the original photo. Tidied it up a little, cloned and flipped the bottom blue sections to create a continuous top section. Used photoshop's watercolour filter. Cropped to a long rectangle.

Looked for a licence free stock photo of a white freight lorry, but found a white VW Camper instead.

Put the painting on the top layer and then used blendif to superimpose onto the white VW. Masked out the wheels, chromework, windows, lights and used the liquify tool to bend a few straight lines. Finally dodged and burned to lighten the roof, front and darken towards the bottom, and also add some definition to the few contours present on the side of the vehicle. Added some dirt.

I reserve the right to revisit and tweak it some more.
