I took this photo at a horse show over the weekend. I have tried many things, but I just can't come up with an image I like. I actually posted two versions of this shot and then deleted both. Maybe you can do something with it.

Entrants may submit one or two images. I will name a winner, first runner-up, and second runner-up after the Challenge ends on Friday, October 16, at 1300 UTC (9 a.m. ET). The winner will provide the image for the next challenge within five days. Otherwise, the runner-up takes over.

First: dbuckle (painterly) -- I'd be happy to hang this on my wall
Second: TNcasual -- So much better than my own sepia
Third: vorlon1 (first one) -- Intense color without looking unrealistic

I preferred nearly every entry to my own efforts, which concentrated on sepia. I was impressed by how many managed to minimize the distracting background.

Thanks to everyone who participated. Over to dbuckle for the next Challenge.
