Missed the PanStarrs comet, instead, I captured the Pleiades
EPM2 20mm f1.7 16sec
Nice picture, did you take the picture around 10:30? I live in GR and was planning to go to Grand Haven and take some pictures if the skies are clear this weekend?
Nice shot The Pleiades,The Hyades and Aldebaran. Any tech info?
Shot was taken around 9-ish...mounted the camera to my trusty Pro190CX3 tripod (with GP-S ballhead), set the camera to 200 iso (after testing it at higher iso's), and used live bulb until there was enough detail in the screen...knowing that that the exposure needed to less than 20 seconds, otherwise I'd get star trails.
Oh, and a remote cable release...second most important element...I didn't even bother with mirror lockup.
Very cool shot!
oh, the lighting on the trees were from the neighbors front porch lights...which normally I hate, since they leave them on all night, but it worked well in this shot to highlight them
What is that clump of stars on the right side?
What's a mirror?
That's the Pleiades or Seven Sisters or Subaru in Japanese (Look at the Subaru logo) The V shaped cluster on the left is the Hyades, the face of Taurus the Bull with the red star Aldebaran as his eye.
Whoops...antishock...you know, the one with the diamond symbol next to it
