Placed a pre-order for the Fuji X100T...

I was on the fence about purchasing an X100 when they were being closed out at $500 and also with the X100S earlier this year, at least until I heard the rumors of an updated camera to be announced at Photokina 2014.

This time around, it's now on pre-order and hopefully will have one in my hands sometime in November. 35mm happens to be my favorite "general purpose" focal length and with the Fuji along with my EM1 (with 25/1.8 and 45/1.8) can have my favorite holy trinity of 35/50/90 along with a 28mm focal length with my Ricoh GR Digital III.

Very excited about this camera in the same way I was with the EM1.

Three small lightweight cameras with 4 fast (f1.8 to f2.0) prime focal lengths at 28/35/50/90 that all fit into a smallish Billingham Hadley Pro bag. What's not to love?

I'm finding 28-35mm focal length to be great out shooting with our two year old. For awhile that was GM1+17/1.8 and now it is GM1+15/1.7. I've looked at the X100 series a number of times in the past. At the moment I think the GM1+15/1.7 with its super fast AF along with my great preference for 4:3 instead of 3:2 aspect ratio will keep me from ever going the X100 route.

I have the original X100 and love it. I am sure this new version will be fantastic.

That stinkin' x100 tempts me all the time. It's easily the most beautiful fixed lens camera made today, and the images I see consistently impress.

I've always enjoyed the photos I've seen taken with the X100 and X100S. The X100T should be more of the same since it has the same sensor and engine as the X100S.

On a different note, one of my favorite compact P&S cameras of all time was the Fuji FinePix F10, the winner of multiple camera awards back in 2005/2006. It was a true consumer P&S with barely any manual controls but it always produced great images for me. I ended up selling the camera when I bought my Ricoh GR Digital III and now 5 years later, I return to being a Fuji owner once again.

i had the x100. and loved the "organic" look in the files. but sold it when i missed the mft beautieful lenses. a good photo from any camera balance up all organic files and x100 mojo whatsoever. its very freeing to finally understand this....

I agree with the below statement 100%. I think many of us fall into the trap of getting hung up with gear and thinking it'll allow us to take better pictures or even inspire us in some way. Having said that, for me, when I choose a camera, one of the most important aspect is how that camera feels in terms of responsiveness, interface, haptics, etc... If it doesn't feel right, it's a camera I'll eventually end up leaving at home eventually after the honeymoon period is over.

The X100 series, to me, is a well thought out camera in this regard as is my Ricoh GR Digital III which absolutely nails it in terms of camera interface. I'm not so sure about the "organic" look of Fuji files or if that's what I would call it, but it does have a unique color palette and rendering in the same way that the Ricoh GR series has a certain look with it's B&W files.

Anyways, I'm a fan of small compact cameras with a fast fixed prime. The X100T will be a nice complement to my Ricoh as well as the EM1.
