A question to the 50-200 owners, do you notice a little roughness, when zooming back in fairly quickly, around mid point of the range? Only when the lens is horizontal, vertical its as smooth as silk. I am thinking its due to the weight and extension of the inner section, I have noticed it on 2 copies I have tried now. Its only very slight, and is not there if you zoom very slowly, only when you zoom at a quicker pace.

Never noticed. If you've ever compared it to the zoom on a 100-400 you'd have nothing to complain about!

Mine has gotten more noticeable, around the mid point when zooming back in, plus the auto zoom when hanging on a strap is annoying too. And I discovered with the fast strap if I put the cam behind me when walking the hood button activates against your back and hood falls off!
