I recently obtained a used Pana Leica 45mm f2.8 and it making noise when it is focusing. This isn't the whine that I've heard in some videos shot with the lens; but, almost like a clunking. At first I thought it might be the OIS kicking in; but, it does it with OIS turned off as well.

    Is this normal?

What is weird is that it doesn't do it when changing focus during video. It must have something to do with the slower/smoother focusing speed during video recording.

I've tried it both on my G1 and GX1 and it does the same thing on both those bodies. I haven't tried in on my E-P1 yet though.

Just looking to put my mind at ease.

Might it be the aperture blades adjusting to the light?

It isn't the aperture blade rattlesnake sound.

I tried it on my E-P1 tonight and it is almost silent. Of course the focus is also slower on the E-P1.

Does anyone have any experience with the PL 45mm and the GX1?
