I recently acquired an OEM 1 mk 3 after owning a mk 2 for some time, I know there had some changes so expected some.

I did a shutter count, out of curiosity, and found it can take account of electronic as well as mechanical shutter counts.

I also noticed there was a count for number of times the camera was switching on an off which was when the dust removing vibration happened with U notation it is surprising how many different versions of how to find shutter count there is so are for now some very old cameras which have permanent pixel mapping in the early days of 43 rds which also threw me as we now only pixel map if we notice a hot or cold pixel. I still learning and will never stop . take care

I don't know about the Four Thirds bodies but Pixel Mapping was already optional for my C-7070WZ and also for my previous C-5060WZ, which were released in 2004 and 2003, respectively. It is not automatic or mandatory or anything like that in these two cameras. Actually, I vaguely recalling reading somewhere that you shouldn't do it too often, only once a year or something, or when the dead/hot pixels problem gets really bad.
