I've seen three recently. The Thin Red Line; The New World; The American. Each included lengthy stretches during which cinematography carried the movie. Has anyone seen other examples?
Koyaanisqatsi, Baraka, Lawrence of Arabia, The Mission, Ran off the top of my head. +1 for Malicks Thin Red Line - its gorgeous.
Basically any movie by Wong Kar-Wai. Every frame is aesthetically pleasing. Sent from my GT-I9500 using Mu-43 mobile app
Lawrence of Arabia Blu-Ray remastered scored a 100 on video quality on Audio Visual Science forum. Amazon has it for $9.95, so I'm looking forward to checking it out. I've only seen stills from the film version.
