Photo contest: 'Black and White' - Ends March 1, 2010 ($100, $50, $25 prizes)

    The theme for our second photo contest is Black and White.


    Contest Prizes (in US dollars, payable via PayPal):

    • 1st Place: $100
    • 2nd Place: $50
    • 3rd Place: $25
    Ties may be resolved via run-off or dividing the prize, depending on the situation.


    Contest Rules:

    • Participants must be registered members who have made no fewer than 3 sensible posts here at mu-43.com.
    • You may enter a photo now and post later, but both the contest entry and the 3 qualifying posts must be made on or prior to March 1, 2010.
    • Only one photo submission per person.
    • You may only enter a photograph which you yourself have made.
    • The photo must have been taken with a Micro Four Thirds camera.
    • Maximum photo dimension must not exceed 1024 pixels.
    • The photo may have been taken at any time.

    Of course you continue to hold all rights reserved. We have no intention of trying to gain any rights to your photograph. You can remove it from the forums any time.


    To enter, simply post a photograph in this thread. HTML and code are enabled to make posting as easy as possible. For detailed information about how to post a photo in this or any other thread, see [URL="http://mu-43.com/showthread.php?p=1165#post1165"]here[/URL].


    Contest judging will be through a simple voting process. All registered mu-43.com members with at least 3 posts are eligible to vote. To vote for a particular photo, simply click the [IMG]http://mu-43.com/images/buttons/post_thanks.gif button underneath that particular submission (Note: the [​IMG] button will not be visible to you unless you have at least 3 posts). It is an "open" voting process; ie, your name will be displayed along with other members who voted for a given entry. Please limit yourself to 3 or fewer votes at the end of the voting period. At any time prior to the end of the voting period, you may add your vote to or withdraw your vote from an entry.


    The voting period will end on March 8, 2010 (1 week after the March 1 entry submission deadline).

    I like the new theme. I love B&W photos. Will definetly enter a photo in this contest :smile:

    I was thinking that many photos taken for the documentary contest might be appropriate for this one as well :smile:.

    here's my entry...actually i have posted it also in the pana 20mm images thread...i hope it's okay to submit it also for this contest...

    its a landscape shoot where i thought the clouds give more majestic impression to the overall picture..

    This is in the bathroom at a local restaurant. I'm wearing black and the walls are white. (And the photo is rendered in B&W.)

    Just has to be done

    It is great to see the difference in numbers of entrants for this competition at this stage compared to the last one and should serve as encouragement for all.

    Black and White has always held a special place in my heart as I like many others cut my teeth on it.

    So here is my entry that was taken on our trip to Brighton, it suits the theme as the boat is of the same era as the height of B&W.

    This image makes me imagine a modern day King Arthur waiting for Excalibur to brought to him by The Lady of the Lake! And I mean that as a compliment. This photo has a lot of power and is beautifully rendered. Well done!:bravo-009::bravo-009:
