Hey guys, the Pentax Q has real potential in extreme telephotography as it has a 5.5X multiplier with adapted lenses.....but this works equally well for macros as well....

....here are a few shots of a ghost mantis which is the size of a sunflower seed....these were shot with a Fujian 35mm f1.7 lens used for cctv cameras (inexpensive).....full manual and tons of fun.

Interesting. Are you using the Q software defocus control?

No, I've actually not tried that feature......from what people say, the BC feature isn't controllable as to what you blur......I'll stick to the natural effect when it occurs.

The shots posted here were shot around f11 or so.....the lens has a smooth rotation and doesn't click when changing the aperture iris, so it's impossible to really tell what precise aperture you're using- which is fine for me- I don't need to know exact numbers- I just care about the exposure and depth control......at f1.7 it's soft but has beautiful background blur......I'll post photos of my daughter at f1.7 in the future.
