The Pentax FA 77mm f/1.8 Limited is one of the two best lens I have ever used, the other being the 43mm Limited for which I have also posted samples.

This lens was designed for 35mm film (AKA "full frame") and works out to 154mm equivalent focal length on Olympus MFT. This makes it a telephoto that might be too long for studio portraits. However, I find it useful at events to pull individual speakers or performers off the stage and into my camera. With a screw-on adapter it also works as a macro. I have found it great for bokeh shots and even landscapes (examples of each below).

Besides the incredible handling, this lens is small for its speed. It has an integrated collapsible hood that I find convenient. This lens was specifically designed to render in a particular way. I find it second to none, and equal only to the 43mm Limited. The look is neutral but it provides a lovely volumetric rendering, with plenty of fine detail. The only downside is a tendency to purple fringing.

It's hard to believe there is no thread for this lens.

Amazing. But then it has two things going for it (besides the photographer, I mean). 1. A cat. 2. The FA77.

Ok this thread is now making me nostalgic for my FA 77 I just sold - at any rate here's a Pentax captured image (I know I know) on APS-C (115mm EFL) just to show the rendering/bokeh - very special lens :)
    image.

PS to the OP, the FA 43 was my favorite Pentax lens (maybe also the DA*55) and I'm very Irish :)
