This lens really surprised me. At 1.8 I'm not that thrilled, but stopped down tot 2.8 it's an extreme sharp lens :)

Does anyone else have experience with this lens?

I have what might be a close-ish relative - a non-SMC Super Takumar 55mm f1.8 on an M42 mount. It's a really nice lens that I don't use much since I got an O45. I ought to give it some use again - especially now I have a VF-2 to go on my E-PM2!

I particularly like your third shot.

That's very funny! The lens you're speaking about is the one I've bought a couple of days ago. It will be deliverd in a few days. I ordered it with the Pentax Spotmatic and have some other M42 lenses, so I'm going to use it.

Yeah me too. I used it a lot before I bought the 45 1.8, now I do use it for analogue photography en sometimes for my olympus, but I like the 45 better. It's so sharp, even at 1.8, it almost scares me.

I've heard very good things about the Takumar Super 55 1.8 and I'm looking forward to have it, especially for the Pentax Spotmatic for the extreme Bokeh, but if it performs nice, maybe as well on the Olympus. I've gote some extension tubes for M42 and a teleconverter, so I should be able to do some great stuff with it!

The photo is telling the story of a good lens, that's good to see :)

At the suggestion of one of the adapted lens *ahem* "authorities," (@Mattyh), I sought out a copy of this lens. Never had any experience with it in my film days, but the color rendition seems awesome, and sharpness is there if you're diligent about focusing.

Processed from ORF. Adjustments for shadows and exposure; saturation reduced slightly. Shot at f5.6.

After 40 years of photography it’s still one of my all time favourite lenses with its Pentax pixie dust sparkle, I’m glad I was of assistance,
But remember this lens is a secret, don’t tell, as everyone will want one.......

P.s. Have I told you about the Pentax 100mm f2.8, now that is a lens and a half:sorry:
