Surprisingly, I couldn't find a thread for this lens. Mods, feel free to move this if I've missed something.

Putting this lens to work. I got a m42/k adapter and used that with a m43/k adapter - it works but is very loose. The lens came free several times. I suspect this was just the side-effect of two cheap adapters. I should try it on my K1000 to see if its the m43 or the m42 adaptor thats not quite up to spec.

    PC050002.

Pretty good overall, as expected it was very soft wide open but stops down nicely

    This at f2

    P1140289.

And this is more like f5.6

    P1140321.

They're different... Some have different optical designs, # of blades, etc.

For the 50/1.4, the older one supposedly has better bokeh, but they also turn yellow due to radioactive elements (which can be cured by UV/sunlight).

Lots of info in the lens review database at Pentax Forums.

Is it just me or do the Lens Barrel,Aperture and Focus rings etc look identical to the Helios 44 range of lenses?
