Last week a client handed me this lens. After a quick consult on our board with John Flores, I decided it was worth an adapter.

I ordered an K mount adapter from Rainbowimaging which arrived today. As I wanted to at least take a few sample shots they are not of very stimulating subject matter.

I'll post a few here, I try to get some improved subject matter in the next few days. So far though, nice little lens. Small even with the adapter, about the same as the Hexanon 40mm 1.8

Yes, this is a very good lens, although SMC-M 28/3.5 is even better in terms of sharpness and contrast.

Hi Start,

That would be pretty darn slow (3.5) for a prime wouldn't it?

I had an opportunity to shoot this morning, outdoors, in a small town at the local dam. We'll see how that turns out when I get back to my office.

If i don't enjoy it, it'll sit in the office I guess. I did note that infinity doesn't focus.. I understand that's an issue with many / several adapters..

More From Today

Again with the Pentax 28mm f2.8

I'm finding this lens to be soft at infinity, and certainly soft wide open.
Stopped down..pretty nice.

I am finding this lens very sharp and easy to use on my E-M10, here are a few examples.

Don't know why I hadn't tested this lens prior to today; it's been on my shelf since I bought a Pentax quite a number of years ago.
Can't find any hint of swirl but the bubbles at f2.8 are almost scary. Will have to play with this one.
