Panny aperture rings to be supported with Oly firmware?

  1. I'm not betting on it, but has anyone heard tell of Oly going for a firmware upgrades to support PL lens aperture rings?

Oly just doesn't seem to "get" that kind of thing though. Not getting my hopes up. It's like hoping for an EP5 but with a built-in EVF. Panasonic got that: the GX7.

Hmmm, and the GX7 supports the PL lens aperture rings. But the GX7 doesn't have a dial up top that could be used to set shutter speed.

Agh! This is why I like Fujis and Leicas. :)

  3. Yup, looks like the GX7 can assign shutter speed to the shutter button dial or the back dial. Good to know, I might get a second-hand one or such to use the PL lenses.

As I read the quick review at the above, I'm surprised they didn't mention that it doesn't work - because it doesn't on Oly bodies as of this time. A quick review, they left out a few things. :)
