Just noticed it went from $499 to $549.

When did this happen? Anyone know if this is temporary?

Sooooooooooooooo glad I bought mine used at under $400.

edit: actually paid over $400, but still very glad I did. Love the lens!

Yes, I wanted to report this as well... the price went up a day after I bought mine. I couldn't find one for less than $450 after currency conversion from the used market so i gave up and bought a new one for not much more and then bamn! price increase. Im sure it will come back down eventually.

This price change could drive sales of the 17/1.8

I was considering the PanaLeica 25mm f/1.4 at $499. But I waited too long and missed it. Although the increase is only $50, I'm not going to pay more than $500 for it. For me, psychologically, once I hit $500 it becomes money better set aside to grab that OM-D if and when the prices come down.

Unique Photo, one of our supporters, still lists it at $499 right now.

It was worth every one of the five hundred and fifty dollars I paid for mine.

I agree that the PL25 is worth the price. Get one used, too, if the new price is high. I've not heard of any quality issues with the lens.

I've used Unique photo a couple of times, and have been happy. I am in Boston, B&H and Unique are in NYC. B&H shipments got her a few days faster than Unique, but that was the only difference.

Yes, I bought my PL25 from Unique Photo and happy with their service. It's in NJ, not NYC.

Panasonic decided in essence to charge for the hood and lens pouch.

It should be $600. It's so good.

I really don't understand why the price would increase. Nothing else ever increases in price.

17mm is very different...in angle of view...

The 17mm is distinctly wider than the 25mm. I already have the 20mm Panny and I keep both because they are just different enough angles of view to use one for a particular outing and the other for another kind of outing.

+1 I also have both the 17/1.8 and 20/1.7 and use both often.
