just a quick simple shot, the lights of Albuquerque contaminating the scene, which would have been pitch darkness, other then the stars in the desert sky.

I wanna love the 25...if I did periodical or magazine work I think I would like the focal length more... the 20 is a must have for me...and this shot confirms it..

I actually like the fire-like quality of the city lights...kind of burning in the horizon and making the sky fired up...great shot

You Lucille have some real skill with the night car pictures. I always enjoy viewing them when you post. You could photograph a shopping cart and it would make me want to just randomly push it around :)

What a great picture! I'm a beginner, would love to be able to use my camera like that. Would you mind talking me though how you got that shot? Did you do much to it in photoshop or whatever? I'm hungry to learn! (got an EP3 and 20mm 1.7, but live in the UK where there's a lack of both deserts and Camaros).

There wasn't much done in photoshop, just some resizing for the web, some contrast, a tad noise reduction, then sharpening.

My E-pl1 is set to Vivid which helps (IMHO) with the color.

Camera was set on a small gorilla pod, with the 12 second anti shock shutter delay, when the shutter fired I walked in front of the car (in between the car and camera) and lit the car with a small led flashlight. I made one slow pass then went to the camera and waited for my image, and this was it.

  16. I had wondered how the lighting of the car was achieved.

since the shot is 15 seconds long and I am moving, the lens/camera doesn't catch me so I don't show up in the photo.

one thing I didn't mention, is I manual focus on the car after the camera is on the tripod and set to whatever angle I want.

to focus in pitch darkness, I have a battery powered spotlight that I shine on the front hood or a wheel, then I focus on that. Once focus is achieved I removed the spotlight and prepare for the shot, with the led torch, getting ready to light paint.
